As William walked through the monthly allowances at workplace, he heard an argument among coworkers that caught his attention. One was seated behind displaying literatures and information promoting an off day of Friday. Before long several other coworkers began participating in discussions.
"Friday is defined as Thank God It's Friday or T.G.I.F in short words. Everybody knows it anyway. So why shouldn't it be an off day? Nearby worker asked.
" But if you are taken it off, you might as well reduce or increase responsibilities/time for every worker. They are all the same, other coworker offered.
"Friday is not a happy day for all and it is not a different day, either," said another by stander.
"Well, i heard that makes you just want to leave job earlier and earlier. So if we do the same, we are inviting laziness at work.
" Oh, that's silly. It has the same meaning as Monday. They are all equally close to the weekend," someone from the back shouted.
"I think you all had better got at your facts straight, "said the person behind. " Checkout this book page and then we can discuss this issues fairly."
1. What are the mentalities meaning Friday? How are they effect work differently from remaining workdays? How are they normally different from weekends?
2. What makes Friday a happy day for most employees? What are the some of those employees mentalities? How are most employees working on Friday?
3. How common are Friday mentalities in comparison with Monday mentalities? Why do some people suppose Monday a strong work day is socially accepted whereas Friday a workday is largely weak?
4. What is your opinion about whether Friday should be the off day? Be sure to defend your opinion with sound or research based evidence and not the faulty arguments that were given by the coworkers in the story.
5. What potential impacts of an off day of Friday? What are they if an off day at Monday?
